WARMING TODAY: Skies are mostly cloudy today and we’re back to seasonal averages with highs in the upper 30s! Tonight we will stay mostly cloudy and dry as temps only drop to the upper teens.
WEEKEND: It’s even warmer yet for Saturday as a storm system moves to our west, the warmer side of the system is with us. Highs will hit the low 40s. Models show the precip from the warm front just skipping us to the north. Then, as the cold front approaches, a few light showers may develop in the overnight hours, tapering on Sunday morning as the system fizzles a bit. Lows are in the 30s Sunday with highs in the middle 40s under mostly cloudy skies for both days.
PUNXSY PHIL: For Sunday morning at headquarters on Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, the skies look mostly cloudy with snow showers possible. Phil may not see his shadow, bringing an early spring to believers!
BIG GAME: Super Bowl XLVIII is in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday. We’re forecasting temperatures in the low 4os for kick off under mostly cloudy skies with a light breeze. A few light showers may be closing out with temps falling into the 30s during the game.

NEXT WEEK: We chill off a bit for Monday, back into the middle 30s with mostly cloudy skies. Models have slowly been hinting at some snow slipping in from the south, so we’ve added snow showers to the picture. Stay tuned on this one through the weekend.
Then, Tuesday into Wednesday, we’re monitoring a potent storm system sliding in from the south. It’s looking more likely each model run that it will impact us with a mix, but the timing and type of weather is still in question. At this time, snow starts late Tuesday, switching to freezing rain and then rain for periods overnight, before ending as some accumulating snow. Again, this is a first look at the system, with more to come in the days ahead. Temps stay in the middle 30s for the duration.
