Thousands of people in Franklin County took advantage of this weekend’s seasonal temperatures by heading outside for the 12th annual Chambersburg IceFest. Sponsored by M&T Bank, IceFest has evolved into one of the largest outdoor ice festivals in the state. And organizers think this year could be the biggest with more than 20,000 people expected to attend. The event includes more than 70 uniquely sculpted ice displays. The event started on Thursday and has had an array of events including a snowflake ball, a four-day long scavenger hunt, and a chili cook-off.
Jahzaiah of Hagerstown, Md says, “The heart one (is my favorite) because it reminds me of my family and how much I love them.”
The Icefest runs through Sunday.
