The westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike are closed between the Willow Hill and Fort Littleton exits. The accident involving three tractor trailers happened around 4:48 a.m. in the westbound lane near mile marker 181, according to the turnpike website.
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes off the Carlisle Interchange to avoid delays.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
Due to winter weather conditions the speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph in the area between New Stanton Interchange (#75) and Morgantown Interchange (#298) in both directions.

At this time all westbound customers should exit the Carlisle Interchange and use the following detour route to avoid extended delays. Route 11 North to Interstate 81 South (58 miles) to Maryland Exit #4 to Interstate 70 West (48 miles) to Route 30 East (.3 miles) and re-enter at Breezewood Interchange 161/Old 12.
