David Vanevery, 70, of Reading was killed when the tractor-trailer he was operating became involved in a chain reaction crash.

The crash happened in the east bound lanes involving three other tractor trailers.

Vanevery was pronounced dead at the scene.

The PA turnpike remains closed in BOTH directions between Gettysburg (#236) and Harrisburg West (#242) interchanges due to the tractor trailer accident. It will remain closed until the scene is clear and the State Police have finished their investigation.
