School bus accident in Derry Township

A car hit a stopped school bus this morning in Derry Township, Dauphin County. It happened just before 9am at the intersection of Hockersville Road and West Chocolate Avenue (SR422). Police say the 88 year-old driver of the sedan struck the driver-side portion of the stopped school bus while making a turn at the intersection. The crash caused moderate damage to both vehicles. The driver of the sedan was taken to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment. No one on the school bus was injured. The bus, owned by ‘First Student Inc.,’ was transporting students for the Lancaster Country Day School.

Police continue to investigate the cause of collision
