FRIGID, DRY START:  The first half of the work week looks calm, cold, and quiet thanks to high pressure.  This high will bring sunshine with limited interruption by clouds for a good chunk of the week.  Mornings will be very chilled with temps in the teens and single digits.  Today, we’re in the mid to upper 20s for highs, with low 20s for Tuesday and middle to upper 20s for Wednesday.  Clouds slip in late on Wednesday.

THE $1,000,000 QUESTION:  Will it snow again?  There is so much to watch here.  The position and strength of the early week high will play a huge role in how this next storm system makes its way along the coast.  Right now, we’re still seeing high variability in the model solutions, from hitting it big to busting completely with the snow chance.  Don’t ask how much, because that part of the forecast is off the table for another day or so until we get a better feel on it.  Why?  The energy responsible for the storm is still over the Pacific Ocean, meaning, we don’t have a storm yet and our models grasp on it is limited.  Stay with us, we’ll hammer it all out through the week.  We’re leaning toward the shot at snow, so prepare for another snow day.

INTO THE WEEKEND:  With the uncertainty of Thursday’s storm in play, the weekend forecast will need to be tweaked.  The pattern continues to show added chill for the weekend and a shot at some snow showers.  Friday, for Valentine’s Day, expect mild temps in the upper 30s.  Saturday and Sunday we’re in the upper 20s with the snow shower chance on Sunday.

Have a wonderful Monday!
