The box had the word “whore” handwritten on the front and “she’s beautiful” written on the back, police said.
The man returned to the apartment a little more than an hour later, entered the living room and walked on furniture. Balgobin also smelled several items in the room, and ignored multiple requests to leave, police said.
He then sat on the couch and turned on the television, eating some of the chocolates he had brought earlier in the day, police said. The apartment residents said they didn’t know the man and locked themselves in their bedroom out of fear. Police said Balgobin attempted to enter the locked bedroom, but returned to the couch when he was unable to open the door.
One of the apartment residents met with police on the first floor of the building, and they saw a note taped to the inside of the elevator door that said, “You’re beautiful.” She recognized it as the same handwriting that was on the box. Police arrested Balgobin, who said he knew he wasn’t supposed to be in the apartment and was aware he was trespassing, police said. He was arraigned by District Judge Carmine Prestia and taken to Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
