The Fire and Ice Festival is this weekend in Lititz, Lancaster County . This morning men from the Gate House, a drug and alcohol transition house, helped to remove the snow and ice so that the event could kickoff with a block party Friday night. The men started shoveling as the sun came up Friday morning. The volunteer work was a way for the men to give back to the community that they say has given them so much.
“ It makes me feel good I think it makes the guys feel equally as good. The community does a lot for us so we do a lot for them,” says Travis Acker, volunteer
“It’s good practice to give back and to not be doing things selfishly,” says Tyler Freed, Volunteer
The Fire and Ice Festival starts tonight at 5:00 and runs through Sunday.
