A roof collapse at the WGAL studios in Lancaster County has forced the evacuation of the building. Emergency crews are standing by on scene. Part of the roof collapsed while people were working inside. Firefighters say the roof has had drainage issues in the past so it looks like the heavy snow melting caused the roof to collapse. Nobody can enter the building as of 6pm. It was evacuated around 4pm. Although no one was injured, there is a lot of damage to the building. Structural engineers are now examining the building. They’re seeing if it’s possible more of the roof may collapse. Firefighters went in to get pictures of the damage for a few minutes when they first arrived. They realized it was a dangerous situation and pulled the fire alarm to get everyone out. The Assistant Fire Chief of Lancaster Township Fire Dept said the people inside heard a loud noise and then the ceiling on the second floor started to come down on them.
