A 51-year-old man is behind bars accused of stabbing another man during a bar fight in Lebanon City on Saturday, police said.

Michael Williams, of Lebanon, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Officers were called to the Liberty Bar at 447 North 9th Street around 11:43 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.

The victim, 42-year-old Patrick Embry, of Lebanon,  had been cut several times. Embry told police he was involved in an argument with Williams inside the bar before it spiraled out of control.

Williams initially left the bar, but returned a short time later and began fighting again with Embry, investigators said.

According to police reports, Williams cut Embry in his head, shoulder and legs with a knife. Embry was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are considered serious, but not life threatening, police said.

Williams was arrested and taken to Lebanon County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
