Governor Corbett and First Lady Susan Corbett were joined by the Governor’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs at the Governor’s mansion in Harrisburg Tuesday.  They honored African American leaders from across the state for their commitment and dedication to their community.

Governor Corbett says, “Everybody here they aren’t looking for that recognition, but I think its important for the state to have an opportunity to recognize the work they do.  So that other people out there may be encouraged to do something similar, not for the recognition but to help their community.”

Two individuals from Pittsburgh, one from Philadelphia, and three from Harrisburg were honored including New Orleans Saints, Marques Colston.  Colston was recognized for his partnership with PinnacleHealth, The Salvation Army, and The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and his efforts to promote healthy lifestyles for children and young adults.
