Midday showers and a spring preview
RAIN TODAY: The milder air pumps in quickly this morning, and it’s all ahead of a cold front set to pass later today. We’re cloudy with breezy showers making their way into the region for the late morning hours. Expect rain to begin by midday as gusty showers to move through during afternoon hours. Rain tapers quickly by the evening commute. The line of showers will produce heavy downpours and even some thunder and lightning. Pockets of strong winds may be an issue as well as flooding of poor drainage areas due to the rain and melting snow. We hit the low 50s early, with clearing skies by the evening and temperatures falling through the 40s. Tonight, we drop to the upper 20s.
WEEKEND: Enjoy the spring preview for one day, and it’s Saturday! We’re talking highs in the middle 50s with a southwest breeze and plenty of sunshine. Sunday, cooler air begins to slip in. We’re partly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s. We stay mostly dry this weekend, with the chance for some light snow overnight Sunday into Monday.
CHILL RETURNS: Colder air finally slides back in to close out the last week of February. Expect upper 30s Monday with lots of sunshine. Tuesday into Wednesday, weak disturbances will bring us some clouds and even a few snow showers for mid-week. Highs are stuck in the low 30s, about 10° below average. We do stay mainly dry and chilly to end the week.
Have a fantastic Friday and an awesome weekend! See you Monday.
