19 year old suspect wanted in Lancaster City shooting

Lancaster City Police have filed charges against Jovar Juwan Jackson, 19,  in connection with a reported shooting that occurred on January 19th in the 400 block of  South Queen St. Officers were dispatched to the scene at about 11:15 pm and located Jackson, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right thigh.

He was conveyed to Lancaster General Hospital where he was treated for his injury. Jackson was uncooperative with officers at the scene and during attempted follow-up interviews. Investigators continued to gather information and evidence and determined that Jackson had actually accidentally shot himself. Detective Stan Roache charged Jackson with Firearms not to be Carried Without a License (F-3) and Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M-2).  A warrant for Jackson’s arrest has been issued.
