Man charged with attempted homicide after stabbing, standoff in Perry Co.

A 37-year-old man was arrested over the weekend for attempted homicide after a standoff with police in Perry County, police said.

Jason Aquallo, 37, barricaded himself inside a home along the 900 block of Pisgah State Road in Carroll Township after a woman in her 30’s contacted 911 to say she had been stabbed around 1 a.m. Sunday.

The unidentified woman was flown to a local hospital with stab wounds to her back and side, according to state police reports.

Aquallo was arrested after a standoff with members of the Pennsylvania State Police Special Response Team.

He faces charges of attempted homicide,  aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and simple assault.

Aquallo was taken to Perry County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 28.
