I’ve never been shy about sharing my age with our viewers. I’m a 37 year-old mother of three, who like many other working moms, feels exhausted…and aged! Ughhh. There are a lot of procedures on the market these days that promise to give us all a “fresh-look.” Being that I work on camera, and am always trying to look my best, I’ve ventured into the world of wrinkle reducers.
I’ve tried a number of wrinkle reducing procedures, each which came with a needle. I’m not a huge fan of needles, and despite how little it hurt, I was excited to hear about another procedure that didn’t involve any breaking of the skin:) Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Holly Gunn with Lancaster Skin Center, told me about Pellevé during one of my past visits. It’s a non-invasive procedure, without needles or surgery, and it’s FDA- cleared to treat wrinkles.
It sounded a bit too good to be true. That said, I was definitely eager to give it a try. Dr. Gunn explained that the procedure basically includes a handheld device that is rolled over your face. The ball-shaped head of the device heats up, causing the collagen in your skin to contract and tighten up. She told me after the treatment, my skin would produce new collagen, which makes the skin tighter. You can see that hand-held device in the picture below–and the clear gel placed on your face beforehand.
I can definitely say that after the first treatment, my skin felt extremely tight. The appearance of my wrinkles seemed to soften as well. I had this treatment four times, and you can see the before and after pictures for yourself.
The best part, besides a smoother face, is the treatment is actually enjoyable. It feels like a deep face massage with heat! There were a few times when the heat got a little uncomfortable, but with a quick mention of it, Dr. Gunn simply moved on to another area of the face. Pellevé is a great option for people who don’t want to go under the knife, or deal with needles!
