Penn Township Police Chief Richard Pickles, arrested last June on driving while under the influence charges, has been accepted into the Dauphin County accelerated rehabilitative disposition program.  Court documents show at a hearing on February 6, Pickles, was assigned to the ARD program.   He entered pleas to two counts of DUI both first time misdemeanors and failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, a summary traffic offense.

The 60 year old Pickles, most serve 12 months probation, perform 40 hours of community service, attend highway safety school and ordered to pay $1,600.00 in fines and court costs. His drivers license was not suspended.

Pickles, an ex-Harrisburg City Police Officer, and interim chief, was stopped by Susquehanna Township Police on June 27, 2013. His blood alcohol level was found to be 0.082.  The state legal limit is 0.08.

Pickles was hired as Penn Township’s Police Chief in January 2012.
