FRIGID:  It’s a really chilly morning today with skies starting out clear.  Clouds roll in through the day as another clipper swings by with a reinforcing shot of cold air following with it.  Watch for a few snowflakes and squalls, but most are dry.  Highs today hit the middle 20s.  A gusty northwest wind at 15-25mph picks up and drops temps through the day.  Tonight, we drop big time as many places roll to near 0°under high pressure.  The record is -1° from 1934.  We barley hit the 20° with plenty of sun for Friday.

3 Day Planner

WEEKEND:  Our next big weather maker will set up shot on Saturday.  We’ll see clouds return and temps rising into the middle 30s.  A few flakes may fly, but we’re not expecting much on Saturday.  Sunday into Monday, we’ll see our next storm system roll through.  It looks like we start with rain as a warm front nudges north and stalls.  As the system organizes itself, colder air will slide back southward.  We’ll see rain turning to snow with the shot of an icy, sloppy mess in-between the two for Monday morning.  Snow closes things out at the end of the day Monday.  The timing and location are still fuzzy, so as the details become available, we’ll pass them along to you.  Bottom line:  Be prepared for a sloppy wintry mess on Monday with the potential for accumulating ice and snow.

BEYOND:  Of course, another shot of colder air will accompany this passing system.  Below average chill continues into the first week of March with 20s and 30s for highs.

Make it a great Thursday!
