Pedestrian killed crossing street in Lancaster

A female pedestrian is struck and killed while crossing the street in  Lancaster City.  It happened at about 12:38 this afternoon at the intersection of West Lemon and North Water Streets. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital. So far word on her identity.

The incident involved two vehicles.  There were no other injuries.  City police have closed parts of North Water, Walnut, North Prince and West Lemon streets affecting rush hour traffic while their forensic investigation continues.

Motorist are being asked to avoid the area.
