A Lancaster woman is arrested for shoplifting after pushing her three young children in her cart for nearly 8 hours at Walmart. It happened early this morning at the Walmart located at 2034 Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township. Police say Heather Defreitas, 40, pushed her children, ages 3, 6 and 7, around in the store from 10:30pm until 6:14am.  The children had spent most of the nearly eight hours in the store sleeping in a shopping cart.

Walmart Loss Prevention spotted Defreitas concealing $575.93 worth of clothing and other merchandise in two large handbags and exit the store without paying.

Defreitas is charged with Felony Retail Theft due to multiple prior retail theft dispositions and misdemeanor Corruption of Minors.  She was arraigned before MDJ B. Denise Commins and was released after posting $500.00 bail.   The children were turned over to the custody of their father.
