I-83 restricted to a single lane near Loucks Mill Road this weekend

More repair work on Interstate 83 is scheduled this weekend in York County – this time just north of the City of York. Starting at around 9 p.m. on Friday, March 14, the left lane of I-83 will be closed in both directions in the vicinity of Loucks Mill Road, between Exits 19 and 21. The single-lane traffic restrictions are necessary so that construction crews can make concrete patch repairs to the decks of the bridges over Codorus Creek, Loucks Mill Road, and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. All three bridges are located within a short distance of each other. The construction crews will also replace expansion joints in the bridge deck over Loucks Mill Road. This work should be completed by the end of Saturday, March 15. It’s possible the work can be finished earlier, perhaps by around noon.

Kinsley Construction, Inc. of York, Pennsylvania, is conducting the repair work for PennDOT. If the repairs are not completed on Saturday, the construction crews intend to return the following weekend to finish the work.

Motorists are asked to be alert to this operation and to slow down when approaching and traveling through the work zone, for their safety as well as the safety of the construction crews.
