A British woman was sentenced to jail for cooking her kitten alive in the microwave.
Laura Cunliffe, 23, was sentenced to 14 months behind bars for putting the four-month-old kitten, named Mowgli, in the microwave for five minutes, cooking the animal’s internal organs.
Cunliffe admitted to the disturbing act, saying she did it because she thought the black and white kitten attacked her goldfish.
She pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

“This was an act of utterly horrendous cruelty on your part on an animal that, as far as I could see, had come to trust you and rely on you,” a judge said at Cunliffe’s sentencing.
