A Maryland man is in custody pending extradition to Pennsylvania on a robbery charge. Pennsylvania State Police have an arrest warrant for  Michael Allen Redmond, 54, of Union Bridge, Maryland, in connection with an armed robbery at the Book Warehouse Store in the Outlets of Gettysburg.  It happened last Tuesday, March 9th just before the store closed.  The suspect walked in and displayed what appeared to be a handgun to a store clerk and demanded money. He fled with some money from the cash register.

The next day, March 10th, Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office began searching for Redmond after he was reported missing by his fiancee. The Detectives reached out to Pennsylvania State Police for assistance because Redmond was known to visit the Littlestown and Gettysburg areas.  PSP determined that Redmond matched the description Book Warehouse robbery suspect.

On Monday, Carroll County Deputy Sheriff on routine patrol stopped a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle Redmond was last seen driving. The driver, did turn out to be Redmond. He was taken into custody.

During questioning Redmond admitted to his involvement in the Outlets of Gettysburg robbery. He is being held as a Fugitive from Justice by the Sheriff’s Office pending an extradition hearing.

Charges in Pennsylvania include Armed Robbery, Simple Assault and Theft.
