A York man is charged with setting an overnight morning fire that tore through six homes on West Philadelphia Street this morning. Keith Hetrick, Jr., of 570 Company Street, is charged with Arson and Burglary and is currently in York County Booking Center awaiting arraignment.

Police were called to the area of Philly and Belvidere Avenue around 12:30am for a reported burglary. When they arrived, they found someone had broken into 701 West Philadelphia Street and the building was on fire.

The York City Fire Department responded to combat the fire as police began investigating the incident as an arson. Hetrick was taken into custody in the area of the fire.

The York City Police Detective Division say they are currently attempting to identify a second suspect in the incident.

Several homes were damaged as a result of this crime. Police say 701,703,705,707, 711 W. Philadelphia St. and 138 N. Belvidere Avenue.
