Tomboy kicked out of school, she was told to dress more girly

TOMBOYA Virginia family says their 8-year-old granddaughter  has been kicked out of her Christian elementary school because she is too much of a tomboy.

Sunnie Kahle’s grandparents, who adopted the little girl, say they received a letter from Timberlake Christian school saying Sunnie isn’t welcome there.

The grandparents say the school claims other students are confused as to whether Sunnie is a boy or girl because of her short hair.

The school went on to inform the grandparents it can refuse enrollment to anyone for condoning sexual immorality, homosexuality, or alternative gender identity.

The family says the little girl is devastated she can’t return to her school. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2589588/Tomboy-schoolgirl-8-told-wouldnt-allowed-enroll-Christian-school-principal-implied-short-hair-meant-sexually-immoral.html

This is absurd. If anyone wants to know if she is a boy or girl, just ask her. I thought schools were supposed to teach children not to bully. Isn’t that what they’re doing here???

What are these "so called parents" teaching their kids, that's its ok to exclude those that are different, discriminate. Did Christ exclude Mary Magdalene, no he did not. This tomboy should be sought out and brought back into the flock and accepted with all her differences and judge not by her looks, but by the content of their character. I hope the school and parents are not judge as they have judged others, when their time comes.

This is a school and I take it that it is a private school as well. I agree that a school is to teach a child not judge them. The grades are what matters and if the parent is willing and able to afford to pay for that education then so be it. They review and evaluate these children don't they before they enroll them, right? It should not matter what length the girls hair is. What about a child that has no hair do to cancer? These schools are over stepping their bounds I think. Sit your students down and teach them the difference between judgment that is wrongful. Teach them to get along with others and teach them to respect rules, other students and personal attributes, What they are taught now will determine what and how they will treat others when they are on their own. Every one yells about the parents teaching their children right from wrong but if the school don't do the same the child only gets more confused because the two different teachings. Teachers need to not fail their students and work along with the parent and vise-versa.

Thank God for this school and I wish more schools would do this. The gay community is destroying this country.

Yes, gays are responsible for economic downturn, violence in schools, over-population in prisons, corruption in government, and everything else society complains about in this country. And it is so obvious that this girl was promoting an alternative sexual orientation. Not to mention the fact that God is concerned with clothing and hair length more than morality. I would rather have a daughter with short hair, t-shirts, jeans, and muddy sneakers than one that dresses like a prostitute.

A child should be able to attend a school in whatever attire and hair length desired unless there is a strict dress code that is enforced and published ahead of time for the family's knowledge.

Why is homosexuality your problem when it doesn't affect you. You are pretty much saying "oh, your gay. That's a personal threat to me"

Eric, you are a complete idiot. I would like all of the website addresses that you got your research from because I am positive you are just pulling shit out of your ass to make you feel more superior. Everything you have stated was incredibly irrational, illogical and judgmental.

I am not a lesbian but I support gay rights 100%. How do you even know if this girl is a lesbian? She could just be a tom boy! Even if she is gay, who cares – she is not harming anyone! She is a human being just like the rest of us and she needs our support!

All your comment proves is that you didn't read the end of Eric's.

"I would rather have a daughter with short hair, t-shirts, jeans, and muddy sneakers than one that dresses like a prostitute.
"A child should be able to attend a school in whatever attire and hair length desired unless there is a strict dress code that is enforced and published ahead of time for the family's knowledge."

The first part is called sarcasm…

i totally agree with bethany, i mean seriously how is acting and dressing like the opposite gender harming anyone, the kids are young and naive and probably don't even think about if she is homosexual or not. i mean only about half the kids her age even know what that means!. she is a beautiful girl and should just be herself without people constantly pressuring her to conform to the so called 'typical female appearance" ,
