OVERVIEW:  High pressure slides off the coast this evening. Low pressure will move through the Great Lakes and drag a cold front into the area late tomorrow.  Ahead of it, rain showers will spread in across the area.  Another wave of low pressure rides in from the Tennessee Valley through Virginia and off the Delmarva Coast Saturday bringing more rain as we start the weekend.  We dry out for Sunday and look for temperatures early next week warm up even more our upper level flow becomes more zonal.

THIS EVENING:  Winds are picking up out of the south bringing milder air. Skies are overcast but we remain dry through the evening as temperatures fall from the low 40s to the upper 30s.

OVERNIGHT:  Mainly cloudy and breezy conditions, slight chance for showers in our northwest counties just after midnight, lows nowhere near as cold will drop to the low to mid 30’s tomorrow morning.

TOMORROW:  Rain spreads in from the west heading east during the morning commute.  It remains into the afternoon becoming more scattered in nature.  Showers will be spotty in the evening and mainly east ending, as a cold front pushes through. Highs will be milder in the mid to upper 50s.  It looks like we could pick up anywhere from a .25” to a .30” of an inch of rain with isolated higher amounts.

WET START TO WEEKEND: More rain for Saturday as another wave of low pressure rides by to our south across Virginia and off the coast.  It will be wet through the late afternoon before showers end. Highs will not move much from the morning lows but will still be mild in the low 50s.  An upper level low swings through early Sunday and will contain some strong energy. It could be enough to spit out a shower early Sunday but most of the area should just see cloudy skies to start with improving conditions as the day wears on. Highs Sunday will warm to seasonal average in the low to middle 50’s.

STARTING MILD NEXT WEEK:  The upper level pattern changes and becomes more zonal allowing systems to move quick but also keeping temperatures milder. Heading back to work, we’ll see mostly sunny skies with much milder temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60’s Monday.  The next system quickly arrives Tuesday with a few isolated showers mainly north and some mild air ahead boosting our temps to the mid 60’s.  The front will knock temps back just a few degrees to around 60 for Wednesday with mostly sunny skies.  Then another system moves in for Thursday bring a chance for showers and highs in the low 60’s.

Have a nice night.
