A Lancaster man is being charged for raping a woman after police say he broke into her home while she was sleeping.
Police say Shawn D. Jones, 43, is linked to the crime through DNA evidence. On December 15, 2013, ones allegedly entered the home along the 100 block of Laurel Street. The woman who lived there told police that she was awaken that morning by a stranger standing over her bed.
She said she tried to call police, but the intruder forced a cell phone from her hand and began sexually assaulting her.
Jones is being charged with one count each of rape, burglary, and indecent assault, two counts of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, and three counts of sexual assault.
He is in Lancaster County prison for other unrelated offenses.
