Fatal car accident in Dover Township

One woman is dead and two others are injured, following a two car crash on Route 74 Sunday afternoon.

Northern York County Regional Police arrived on scene at Carlisle Road between Blackberry Road and Sky Top Trail in Dover Township just before 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Officers found two people trapped inside a 1997 Jeep Cherokee. Upon investigation, officers found that a 16-year-old male was driving the Jeep.

Police say the Jeep was traveling north on Carlisle Road when the driver lost control from icy road conditions, crossed into the southbound lane and crashed in to a 2001 Dodge Durango.

The Durango was driven by a 44-year-old Dover Township man. He was transported to York hospital with minor injuries.

The 16-year-old driver was taken to York Hospital with life threatening injuries. The passenger in the Jeep, Karen Lee Jackson, 52,  was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.

    FYI for all families with injuried victims involved a fire Department a lot closer than Dover Township Fire Department never turned a wheel not saying this could of saved a life but you never know.Dover Township Fire Department is located on Davidsburg RD. by Ashley farms developement Union Fire & hose CO. NO. I OF Dover is located on E.Canal ST.in Dover Borough which is roughly 2 miles closer.It's time someone brings the hammer down on them.
