There’s plenty of Central PA flavor on the Pitt football roster, led by Central Dauphin grad, Artie Rowell, number 57. The center started all 13 games for the Panthers last season.

“When you go to a big school like Pitt, there’s always competition so there is always a guy trying to take your job so I just have to keep focusing on the little things and the details.”

Chris Wuestner from Carlisle, is a former walk-on who eventually earned a scholarship.  The receiver knew he could play division one football and he should touch the ball more in 2014.

“From the start, coming out of high school, I always knew that I could play at this level, going to camps and competing with the guys that had 20 plus offers.  I knew and my family knew that I could compete and thats what I wanted to do when I came here in the fall a couple of years ago.”

Former Chambersburg player, Aaron Reese, plays offensive tackle.  He’s using spring ball to raise his game.

“Theres a lot of reps, lots of coaching from the older players.  Now I am taking a lot of reps on special teams and trying to earn the 2nd spot but its been going real well.  Its just a lot of information that I have been taking in.”

Pitt has completed 8 of 15 practices so far this spring.  The final day of practice will be April 15th.
