Police make arrest in York shooting

York City Police make an arrest in an early afternoon shooting. It happened about 1:13 pm in the 100 block of Hamilton Avenue. The victim, identified as Dontay Lowrie, of 330 N. Beaver Street, suffered multiple gun shot wounds. He was rushed to York Hospital for treatment.

Acting quickly, investigators obtained and executed two search warrants at two city homes. They recovered a sawed off shotgun, a .32 caliber revolver, ammunition and other ballistic evidence.

Investigators also arrested 20 year old Juan Abel Santiago. Charges against Santiago include Firearms Violations, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Criminal Trespass and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

The investigation continues, as police attempt to identify other participants in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact York City Police at (717) 846-1234.
