Police: Man shot in stomach in Harrisburg

A man is recovering after being shot in Harrisburg early Saturday. It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Derry Street.

Officers patrolling the area were flagged down and found the victim laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his stomach, investigators said.

The man told police that he was shot across the street near the old Mercado’s pizza shop by a unidentified heavy set black man.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made at this time.
