Sporting clays shoot helps sick children

Folks gathered in Dauphin County on Saturday for Penn State Hershey Medical Center’s Annual Sporting Clays shoot.
The event, held at the Hummelstown Field and Stream Club benefits the Children’s Miracle Network.
Funding from donations allows the Network to provide quality healthcare to sick children in Central Pennsylvania.
“It’s a combination; today’s the day when we get together, just have some fun out on the course here. But it’s really about the donations that happened before today,” says Marvin Smith, Director of Facilities at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
“I know children come from across the state for treatment at Hershey Medical Center. It’s partly because of the Miracle Network that provides the money and resources for them to provide this care,” says Melanie Rager, the mother of a CMW child.
This year marks the 18th year for the event, which has raised more than $800,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network.
