Police: Woman steals minivan, shows up to court hearing and kicks cop

Amanda Becker

A Ephrata woman accused of stealing a minivan showed up to a court hearing Friday on unrelated charges and kicked a police officer, investigators said.

Amanda Becker, 20, is charged with aggravated assault and theft by unlawful taking.

According to police reports, Becker was staying at a friend’s house on Thursday night when she stole her friend’s father’s minivan.

Several hours later Becker showed up to a court hearing at Magisterial District Judge Tony Russell’s office to answer to unrelated charges. When Becker couldn’t post bail set on the prior charges–she became agitated and kicked a police officer while being taken into custody, police said.

Becker was subsequently questioned about the vehicle theft and admitted to stealing the minivan, investigators said.

She was able to provide officers with the location of the stolen vehicle.

She was taken Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 15.

I WAS a friend of hers…. till she hit me back in November….. they didnt mention that she also has a daughter who is about 6 months old and the father is a drug addict.
What ever you say tho, do not blaim it on her parents. They are the kindest people you would ever meet, and she constantly lashed out on them too…… this isnt her first time in the system and it certainly wont be her last. I just feel bad for the precious little girl that came out of this troubled b*tch.

"Troubled" is a euphemism for prone to criminal behavior. She also qualifies as a stupid crook for showing up to a hearing in a stolen vehicle. Teaching children a modicum of common respect died out long ago when a sense of entitlement replaced personal responsibility..

I also know amanda and the unknown charges were also assault on an officer, she is a drug abuser, she sluts around, and is complete shit to almost every single one of her friends, and she doesnt have a damn clue that shes an adult. She likes to show off and get into fights and party. and i feel like thats all she'll ever care about. and i think its also really weird that she hangs with a bunch of 16 yr olds
