Warrants have been issued for a suspected Lancaster County burglar. Police say they traced stolen jewelry to a local pawn shop and that in turn led to the identification of Christopher Wayda, 39, as a suspect. Police say Wayda is a native of New Jersey and is believed to have fled to that state. Criminal charges are also pending in Manheim Township and East Hempfield Township against Wayda.

Some of the burglaries Wayda is suspected of committing:

On March 21, 2014, Manor Township Police were advised of a daylight burglary that occurred in the 400 block of Millersville Rd. A door had been kicked in and a large amount of jewelry and jewelry boxes had been stolen from that residence.

Also, on March 28, 2014, another resident in the 700 block of Millersville Rd. reported that after hearing a knock on his door, his door was kicked in and a suspect entered his residence, and then fled upon seeing the resident. The resident was able to provide a description to police of the suspect and vehicle.

On March 31, 2014 a resident of the 200 block of Longwood Ct. West, Lancaster, reported the theft of a large amount of jewelry from their residence.
