A 67-year-old man is facing charges after police say he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

State police were called to the area of Kinsiger Road in Halifax Township Dauphin County for reports of a suspicious vehicle just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

Police say they located a pickup truck parked behind a fence and made contact with Dennis Buffington of Pillow Pa.

Police also discovered a 16-year-old girl hiding in the back seat of the pickup truck.

Officials say Buffington claimed to be uncle of the teen. When officials called the victims grandmother, she stated the Buffington was not the girl’s uncle.

Both the victim and Buffington were questioned by police. Following questioning, Buffington was charged on suspicion of being in a sexual relationship with the 16-year-old girl, police said.

Officials say the encounters occurred in various locations in Dauphin county over a six to eight month time span.

According to police, Buffington was also in possession of inappropriate pictures of the victim and had sent inappropriate pictures to the teen.

Buffington was charged with unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, indecent exposure and obscene material.

He was transported to Dauphin County booking center for arraignment. His bail was set at $100,000 and was ordered to have no un-supervised contact with any minors under the age of 18.
