April is National Sexual Assault Awareness month and a victim is raising awareness about assault through her fashion designs.

Fashion designer, Asten Byler organized the Fashion for Awareness benefit at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, Dauphin County on Sunday.  The show helped raise money for the non-profit organization, Victims Witness Assistance Program of Harrisburg.

Byler says that her clothes are made with a purpose,  “All of the clothing is one-of-a-kind and made with artistic inspiration. It’s not retail ready to wear. There’s thought into flattering female forms. Some women are fully figured, some women are tall and thin. We’re not all the same so it’s a little bit of a celebration of all of that.”

Amy Roseberry, Executive Director, VWAP, says “We at Victim Witness are extremely grateful for all of the hard work that she put into this event and raising awareness and raising funds for all of the victims we serve in Dauphin County.”

The non-profit reaches out to victims by offering many services including crisis intervention, counseling, and childcare.
