A fisherman found a body along the Susquehanna River this afternoon in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County. Troopers from the Harrisburg Barracks of the Pennsylavania State Police are investigating the scene, between the Statue of Liberty and Fort Hunter in the narrows. The call was received around noon. Police say the body is that of a male.

It is still early in the investigation, but police believe the body had been there for weeks.

“(We will) look for any type of marks that might be suspicious, do some investigating in the area, talk to any witnesses to try and piece this together and find out why exactly this body was in the river,” said Trooper Robert Hicks.
Police say there was no boat found near the body. They do not know of any reports of a missing fisherman in the area.
