The Steelton Water Authority in Steelton, Dauphin County will be holding a meeting at 5 o’clock Monday after the State’s Department of Environmental Protection fined the Borough’s Water Authority a few weeks ago for submitting false reports.
Despite the push by residents to figure out what’s going on with Steelton’s water, The State’s Department of Environmental Protection claims there are no ongoing health risks in Steelton.
But, people living in the Borough have ongoing concerns.
Jerome Davis says he started getting sick in October.
“My whole midsection, I’ve been in pain. I’ve been in pain so bad, I’m taking three different pain pills, antibiotics,” says Jerome Davis, of Steelton.
The DEP said two weeks ago the former Chief Operator of Steelton’s Water Plant sent the state falsified reports of water readings for August, September, and October of 2013.
It’s unclear exactly, why.
But, Steelton also didn’t adequatly disinfect the water for at least 24 days.

“I currently raise my daughter here. And, I would never think that we would allow people to drink contaminated water,” says Culpepper.

Steelton leaders promise they’re following all regulations now..
I’m not out of order. You’re out of order,” said an angry resident at last week’s meeting.
But some are furious that they’re just now finding out about all of this.
“We’re all steaming mad. We want answers, maybe even a class action lawsuit,” says Candice Ann Kinter.
Things got heated at last week’s meeting… so heated, that a woman was escorted out.
“I cannot believe you. You’re out of order,” said an angry resident.
Borough leaders tried to address the concerns about possible infections.
FOX43’s Michael Hyland was at the meeting and asked the Mayor of Steelton the same questions..
“A lot of things that were said tonight are not the truth. I don’t know how we’re going to get it through to the people, but we’re going to have to do it somehow,” said Mayor Tom Acri.
“Do you feel like you should have gone to the people sooner when you found out there were issues?” asked FOX43’s Michael Hyland.
“That’s it. I’m done. No more, guys. Thank you,” said Acri.
People are still wondering why they were not told about the water concerns before last week.
