Some local celebrities grabbed their protective gear and tried their hand at Broomball, to raise awareness for Autism.

Members of our FOX43 team were there, along with other local celebrities, hitting the ice at Kirk Lewis Arena in Palmyra, Lebanon County.

It is part of the Hershey Bears Broomball Club’s 3rd Annual Celebrity Games. Our reporters Rebecca Soloman and Melissa Nardo were in their gear.

The event a mix of ice and field hockey, supports the Autism Society of the Greater Harrisburg Area.

“Every dime we take in here at the event today will go to the Autism Society. It is one of the things we’re most proud of, either the Booster Club or our corporate sponsors pick up the tab and everything goes to the charity we’re supporting today,” said Tom Mara, Coach and Booster Club President.

The event also provided several raffle prizes to some lucky fans including signed souvenirs, NASCAR tickets and a VIP tour of the Vineyards at Hershey.
