A cyclist was injured after crashing into a farm tractor during a road race on Saturday in Lancaster County. It happened around 11:30 a.m. along the 300 block of Turtle Hill Road in West Earl Township.

According to police, the cyclist swerved into the opposite lane of travel as he was heading into a curve along the road. That’s when he crashed into the farm tractor.

He suffered significant injuries and was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment, police said.

Another cyclist crashed his bicycle during the accident. Police said he was treated at the scene.

The driver of the farm tractor was not at fault, investigators said.

The race featured about 240 participants and was put on by Pro-Am Cycling.

The group is a Lancaster-based company that organizes competitive cycling and related events in the Mid-Atlantic area, according to the organizations website.
