A Perry County woman was charged Saturday with stabbing her older sister, police said. It happened just before 9 a.m. along the first block of Hidden Valley Road in Tyrone Township.

Ashley Marie Lopez, 24, is charged with aggravated assault. Police say Lopez stabbed her sibling in the upper torso with a kitchen knife during an argument.

Investigators said the victim suffered heavy blood loss and a collapsed lung. She was taken to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment. The woman’s condition was not immediately available.

I am guessing that you know these fine, upstanding individuals…in my opinion, a collapsed lung and bleeding out doesn't sound like self-defense…unless, of course, you mean that the sister came at her with a knife first so she stabbed her before she could be stabbed. Either way, it's a shame that knives were involved at all. Especially with all those small children in the house.

Well its always a shame to use a knife at all. But when you have no choice its sometimes needed, she'll be in the hospital 3 days tops while they re-inflate her lung. The entire situation is a shame
