Police say they may not have nabbed the suspect who robbed the PNC Bank in Warrington Township, York County on Thursday morning, without the help of a civilian.

They arrested Alexis Laskowski of Boiling Springs. They say he went into the bank, demanded money, and got away with cash.

But a woman who saw the robbery followed him out. She got in her car and rammed it into his. He took off, but his car broke down, and police made the arrest.

They say he admitted to committing earlier bank robberies, starting in February.

Police did not identify the Good Samaritan who helped catch the suspect. He did not have a weapon. They say her actions are brave, but they don’t encourage the public to get involved.

“While she did something very courageous, we encourage people to be good witnesses,” says State Police PIO Trooper Rob Hicks. “Just make note of the actor, what he’s wearing, maybe a description of his vehicle and then call 911 and allow law enforcement to react.”

Laskowski is being held on $500,000 bail facing charges for multiple robberies.
