Organizations throughout York County are reacting to the Ku Klux Klan’s recent flier distribution. The fliers were from the Traditionalist American Knights of the KKK.  They said they would act as neighborhood watchers.  The fliers also listed a 24-hour Klan-line to call.

Sandra Thompson is the President of the NAACP, in York County.  She says she spoke with Fairview Township and York County officials who will not tolerate any incidents of hate.

Thompson says, “Community is unity, community is inclusion. So we want peave and throughout the state, so every township, borough, city, county they come into, we hope every police department and legislator would follow to say they are not welcome here.”

John Overman is the Pastor at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church.  He says, “Silence would have meant acceptance of their message and knowing who they are and what they do, we thought that did not belong in our community.”

Pastor Overman is taking action against the KKK flier distribution in his neighborhood by handing out bright signs that promote unity and equality in one community.
