Police say an Ephrata man was struck and killed by a vehicle along Route 222 in West Earl Township Thursday night. It happened around 8:20 p.m. near the Route 772 interchange.
According to police reports, John O Rineer, Jr, 66, of Ephrata, was attempting to remove debris from the roadway that had fallen from his trailer when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Jenny Dreesen, 60, of New Jersey.
Rineer was taken to Lancaster General Hospital where he later died.
