Man, 28, dies after being hit in the head during fight in Harrisburg

A 28-year-old man is dead after being assaulted during a fight in Harrisburg on Friday night, police said. Authorities have charged Marcos Martinez-Marquez, 47, of Harrisburg  with criminal homicide.

Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Berryhill Street around 9 p.m. for a report of an unconscious person.Witnesses told police that the victim, Jonathan Frysinger, was involved in a fight with Martinez-Marquez.

According to police reports,  Martinez-Marquez struck Frysinger in the head with an unknown object–rendering him unconscious.

Frysinger died from his head injuries while en route to a local hospital, police said.

Martinez-Marquez was arrested and taken to Dauphin County Prison without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 6.
