ENJOY THE SUN… WHILE IT LASTS
The clouds quickly break apart this evening, leading way to plenty of clear skies. This won’t last for too long, however. It’s enough to keep Sunday filled with sunshine throughout the day. A few clouds could roll in later in the day, especially to the southwest. Low temperatures Sunday morning begin in the lower to middle 40s, and afternoon high temperatures reach the lower 60s. It’s much cooler than Saturday’s afternoon highs.
TURNING UNSETTLED
Our next low pressure system approaches Monday, quickly increasing clouds. It’s a mainly dry day, but its attached warm front brings some isolated showers during the afternoon, especially to the southwest. Highs are in the lower 60s once again. This won’t be the end of the showers. The area of low pressure cuts off from the main upper level winds that push systems from west to east. This means the low gets stuck over the central portion of the United States. It’s a massive system, so as it slowly drifts east, more widespread showers move in Tuesday. It’s a cooler day too with highs in the 50s.
PLENTIFUL RAIN
The heaviest wave of wet weather is expected Wednesday as the low pressure system continues to very slowly drift east. A good soaking is expected, with highs only in the 50s yet again. Thursday, the low weakens a bit, reducing the precipitation to scattered showers. Sunshine is very limited during the middle of the week. A milder pocket of air tries to slip in Thursday, so high temperatures try to reach the 70s. Friday and Saturday brings a mixture of clouds and some sunshine. There is indication that the system weakens and heads north, reducing our rain chances to a few showers. Highs hover near our seasonable averages in the 60s.
