State police investigate a series of mailbox thefts

Mail Taken from Mailboxes in New Freedom

State police are investigating a series of mailbox thefts throughout Perry County.

According to police, the thefts happened between April 19 and April 25, 2014, in Tyron Township.

The thefts occurred along Hunters Valley Road, Hidden Vally road, and Weavers Mill Road. It is unclear if the thefts are related and so far five mailboxes have been stolen police say.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact State police at 717-567-3110.

    Does the Postmaster General get involved if there was mail in the box?
