BLOCKED PATTERN:  A blocked up pattern will bring an entire week of unsettled weather to much of the country.  A multi-day severe weather outbreak is underway over the Plains and the South.  For us, we’re on the more stable side, but it comes with several days of soaking rain showers. We could see 3-4”+ of rain out of this over the next few days, which may result in some localized flooding.

BREAK DOWN:  Monday begins dry with clouds thickening through the day.  A few showers roll in as the afternoon progresses, with scattered showers likely as we move into the evening and overnight.  Highs today hit ht low to middle 60s.

Tuesday starts with widespread showers rolling into the state.  Rain continues through much of the day.  It will be our coolest day with highs only near 50°.  It’s cool, damp, misty and foggy at times.

Wednesday looks the wettest of the period.  It’s cloudy and still cool with highs near 60°.  Rain showers are possible early, but the heaviest rain will fall late in the day and into the overnight hours.  Rain will be heavy at times, which will bring our best chance for any localized flooding, as the ground will already be saturated.  Stay alert.

Wet week begins today

Thursday, a wedge forces warmth into the state, with highs near 70°.  Showers are far and few between with sunshine making a few peeks through the clouds.  Friday, cooler air settles in and we are mostly cloudy with an isolated shower.  Highs hit the middle 60s.

WEEKEND:  The blocked pattern is slow to break.  Most of the weekend looks mainly dry; however, an isolated shower or two remain possible.  Highs are in the middle 60s, close to seasonal averages.

Have a great Monday and try to stay dry!
