Thieves target car wash vacuum dirt containers for loose change. East Lampeter Township Police say two vacuum vending machines at Highland Car Wash, 91 Glendale Drive were damaged over the weekend.
The machines were forced open to gain access to the dirt collection containers. The dirt was dumped and sifted through in search of coins and/or valuables swept up from the floors and seats of vehicles.
Police say similar incidents have occurred at other car washes in the area.
