Cumberland County coroner has released the name of the person that was killed in a three vehicle crash along the Pennsylvania Turnpike Wednesday evening.
Dorothy Talton, 82, from Atco New Jersey was killed when she was ejected from her vehicle she was riding in. Talton was pronounced dead at the scene from traumatic blunt force trauma.
According to police reports the accident happened just before 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Pa. turnpike in Upper Mifflin Township near mile marker 211.
State troopers say Wanda Gass, also of Atco, New Jersey, was driving very slowly or was stopped all together in the right hand lane. A vehicle driven by Joshua McAllister, of Pittsburgh, tried to swerve around Gass but clipped the rear of her vehicle. The impact of the crash sent McAllister’s vehicle careening into the left hand lane and into the center concrete barrier. A third vehicle driven by Kitae Park, of South Korea, collided with the rear end of Gass’ vehicle.
Gass and her right front passenger were taken to Carlisle Regional medical Center with severe injuries.
Both east and westbound lanes of the Pa. turnpike were closed for 7 hours as police investigated.
The investigation is ongoing.
