A new government report reveals one in thirteen school kids take drugs for emotional or behavioral issues.

The report from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics also found a significantly higher amount of boys compared to girls on the drugs.

Researchers didn’t identify which disorders were being treated; however, they do say a majority of the kids in the study had been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder at some point in their lives.

The report also found over fifty percent of parents say the medications are very helpful. This is our TOPIC OF THE DAY. Do you think a lot of kids are on medication more nowadays? Leave a comment on our FOX43 Facebook and Twitter pages.
